Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is mentioned by name in Table C of the ADN and is there assigned to UN No. 9003 "SUBSTANCES WITH A FLASHPOINT ABOVE 60 C BUT NOT MORE THAN 100 C which are not affected to another class". Accordingly, it would only be a dangerous good if transported in tank vessels. However, according to an expert opinion of the Federal Office for Risk Assessment (BfR), the substance has toxic properties according to packing group III. This results in an assignment to UN No. 2810 "TOXIC LIQUID, ORGANIC, N.O.S.".

It is planned to report this to the BMDV in order to initiate an amendment for the ADN.

For the technically pure substance with a flash-point of not more than 60 C see BAM No. 63.
Fr den technisch reinen Stoff mit einem Flammpunkt von hchstens 60 C siehe BAM-Nr. 63.
